A person with a vision is
able to peer into the future without necessarily being far-sighted and still
remains rooted in the present without being near-sighted. An organization is
spoken of as having a vision, but that is totally a different perspective.
A vision is simply an idea of the future; it
is an image, a strongly felt wish.
your ability to ignore the present is powerful |
The constant presence of the vision keeps the person moving despite various forces of resistance: fear of failure, emotional hardships, coming from close friends and families, or even practical hardship common in day-to-day living.
Vision is also the
glue that binds individuals into a group with a common goal. It is therefore,
worthy to note that the multiplicity of the meanings does not weaken or obscure
the concept; to the contrary, it demonstrates how essential vision is to the
success of a leader and to an organization.
Having
defined vision in details, now we ask, what are your visions? Is it well
founded to stand the tests of time knowing fully well that you don’t have a
second chance to make the first impression? When applied to a company, vision refers to the force within a leader that spreads like a wild fire when properly communicated to others. It refers to an image of the future that can be discussed and perfected by those who have invested in it.
So in all areas of life, vision is a must have if an organization or individual is to remain focused in the right directions and to achieve their aim.
