Freeness of speech, how to stay within the necessary limits

Freedom of expression and the ability to speak goes hand in hand but defining the two sometimes appears to be somehow difficult if not properly managed. It is indeed a clear fact that no parent will be happy to see their beloved child (ren) suffer any form of speech impediment, but it does happen due to one type of sickness or the other thus making the affected to endure it rather than to enjoy the unfortunate life experience.

And so it goes without any gainsay that the free gifts of life are never complete without freedom of expressing one’s self in a given situation in life. Any sickness that affects a person’s abilities to speak even temporarily is never to be taken for a joke. So please do not tamper with my rights to speak for it is my birthright. Thank you!

Having identified the seriousness of not being able to express one’s self due to some certain problems in life, it is now time for us to peer into other likely forms of hindrances to expressing ourselves in the society. What are those things that we may want to say or have the urge of airing out of our minds but could not be able to or allowed to say because we lack the freeness of speech in that very areas of life. For this, two things may be responsible, one is sickness that has to do with a person’s ability to speak, and another reason is guilty conscience, especially when someone who knows your details happens to be there.

In such a situation, both the first and the second instance have now merged to become one thing, and that is sickness because you wanted to, but could not, which are the characteristics of being sick. Apart from sickness, what are other things that could limit one’s ability to speak out freely?
Even though not up for any negotiations, some things could hinder it.

List of what could place some limits on our abilities to speak out

Guilty conscience
Depts
Imprisonment
Fear

These are just few but major reasons why we sometimes swallow what we have to say either in support of or against some things that bothers us.
Sometimes we may have this placed on our mouths though invincible

Guilty Conscience: The moral justification that what you did is wrong and which therefore limits your freeness of speech against the said vice. Though at times, even though you are expected to say something about the issue on hand, the extents at which you would hammer on it will not be as if when your conscience is free on the matter.

Dept: Just as the saying goes, ‘A borrower is a servant to the lender’. When you are a servant, your abilities to speak on matters are always on the lean side. You may sometimes want to address some pressing issues about some likely perceived vices emanating from someone you are indebted to but the limits you can go are always to your own dissatisfaction but you couldn’t just go beyond that. And the rests goes like hmmmm!!!!.

Imprisonment: Yeah, there are the much talked about freedom of expressions even if you are imprisoned, but you know too well that it sounds louder in pages of newspapers than in real life. You are already placed under limitation as a whole so to say, now tell me, what other right do you have to say anything, which even when you says anything whatsoever, you are still under the mercy of your captors at most? Freedom has to be complete to be called freedom. You can only shout because of frustrations from the prison bars expressing your angers but that are usually recognized as doing the best you are left with because of your sad situation, you could even be punished for disturbing the peace of other inmates.  That is limitation at best.

Fear: I don't know what would happen if I say this but I have to say it but because of uncertainties, it’s better I stay on my own. But in the real sense of it, that which you are running away from exposing may perhaps be for the benefits of untold number of people which in some ways would also be for your own benefits in ways that you had never imagined. And guess what? Your initial fears may not hold any waters.

In conclusions, this brief blog post is simply meant to address the very issues of what so many people take for granted, the sheer abilities of our freeness of speech. I can shout as a person, express myself through writing and some other avenues available for me to do that, but one thing I may not know is that, I could as well lose the freeness to express myself in those areas if care is not taken.  It is also true that not all alive today are able to what you or I as a person may doing either for a living or just for fun but let us learn to improve and harness whatever we may have as some little advantages over others and use it well rather than intimidate people with it; for who knows if some of those who are now placed under some limits were once like us.
It can as well boomerang

Our precious gifts of freeness of speech is to be properly guarded and well protected lest it lead us to the loss of the said gifts which in turn would place us under some dreaded restrictions in life.

Is it in the areas of spoken words, does it have to do with our day to day activities, our relations with people in general, our overall attitudes in all we do in life? Let us learn to place some limits in all that we do and accommodate our fellow weaker selves (per say) in all that are ethically acceptable while we learn not to overuse whatever gift we have just like our vehicles could serve us well/better not necessarily by constantly exhausting the speed limits on the highway but by maintaining some average speeds till we get to our destinations.

We have it, we could have it, we may have it, it is all possible but the knowledge that we could as well lose it will help us to handle whatever that may be with some greater cares. .Ads....
